Photo series for “The Archive: In Form” – a group exhibition at AAN Gandhara Art Space & Museum in 2026
Curated by Farah Mahbub

Glassware occupies a space between craftsmanship and utility, often produced with considerable technical skill yet valued primarily for its aesthetic and function. Glass objects are expected to perform consistently, appear flawless, and serve without resistance. What is most important about glass is that it is not merely fragile; it is designed to withstand pressure until it suddenly cannot. When it reaches that point, it is rendered useless and thrown away.
This series explores glassware standing in as a surrogate body for my artistry-turned-commercial photographic practice and personal life. The glasses and presented objects themselves serve as visual commentary on what it means to fight for artistry versus marketability and to indulge in superficial beauty on-demand.
